Meet Our Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, & Students,
I would like to take this opportunity and welcome you to Wekiva Elementary School. My name is Mr. Michael Pfeiffer and I am very pleased to introduce myself to you.
I am a graduate of Florida State University and have teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This experience includes general education and special education, having experience with every exceptionality served in Seminole County. I began my teaching career in Jacksonville, Florida. After teaching, I entered administration as an assistant principal at Highlands Middle School. My family and I moved to Seminole County in 1998 when I took a position as assistant principal at Milwee Middle School. In 2001, I was appointed at Rosenwald Center as principal, and in 2004, I came to Wekiva Elementary.
After five years serving as principal at Wekiva, my philosophy of success in education hasn’t changed and is based in three basic statements: I believe every decision must be based on what is best for ALL children; I believe the key to success is founded in sincere teamwork; and I believe that successful teamwork is dependent upon strong open communication between all stake holders. Although there are a million other things that must happen to reach success, if you do these three things, you’re going to make it.
- Mike Pfeiffer

Meet Our Assistant Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Students,
I am honored to begin my second administrative assignment here at Wekiva Elementary this year. I look forward to getting to know you and am looking forward to embarking on a rewarding journey with you and your students.
I am a three-time graduate of the University of Central Florida, having just completed my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Technology. I began my teaching career as a substitute in Seminole County when my children were very young. Once they entered school, I went into the classroom full time as a fifth grade teacher at Wicklow Elementary in its opening year. I have taught fifth, fourth, and first grades, and love technology. In 2006 I was appointed Assistant Principal at Geneva Elementary and now I am privileged to be at Wekiva.
I believe that by working together as a learning community, we can all help our students achieve their goals. I look forward to becoming a part of the Wekiva family and to a successful school year!
- Michelle Baker
