Meet Our Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, & Students,
I would like to take this opportunity and welcome you to Wekiva Elementary School. My name is Mr. Michael Pfeiffer and I am very pleased to introduce myself to you.
I am a graduate of Florida State University and have teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This experience includes general education and special education, having experience with every exceptionality served in Seminole County. I began my teaching career in Jacksonville, Florida. After teaching, I entered administration as an assistant principal at Highlands Middle School. My family and I moved to Seminole County in 1998 when I took a position as assistant principal at Milwee Middle School. In 2001, I was appointed at Rosenwald Center as principal, and in 2004, I came to Wekiva Elementary.
After five years serving as principal at Wekiva, my philosophy of success in education hasn’t changed and is based in three basic statements: I believe every decision must be based on what is best for ALL children; I believe the key to success is founded in sincere teamwork; and I believe that successful teamwork is dependent upon strong open communication between all stake holders. Although there are a million other things that must happen to reach success, if you do these three things, you’re going to make it.

Meet Our Assistant Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Students,
I am very excited to be at Wekiva again this year. look forward to meeting more new faces and getting to know all the people who make Wekiva such a wonderful place to learn.
I am a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. To further my passion for education, I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree from UCF. From 2001-2007, I taught second and third grades at Evans Elementary in Oviedo. I was recently honored as Evans¹ Teacher of the Year and was selected as a Top 10 Teacher of the Year for Seminole County. I am an active leader in SCPS serving on several district level committees, focusing on curricular and instructional excellence. I feel privileged to be a part of the Wekiva community, and look forward to working together toward another rewarding educational year.
I believe it is important to set and help each student achieve new levels of academic excellence each year, foster a sense of personal responsibility within each child, as well as optimize learning opportunities for all. Working together will help us achieve our goals. I¹m very pleased to be part of the Wekiva family, and am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!
