Greetings from the art room! In the months ahead the students will have a lot of fun creating their own artwork as well as learning to appreciate famous works of art.

Much of this will be done through units on the Elements of Art: line, shape, color, texture, space, and form with different projects for each grade level, building upon skills learned in previous years. The children will explore new media.

They will, in the process of creating, sharpen their decision making skills. They will learn that it’s okay to make mistakes because then they can make adjustments and changes. And hopefully, they will learn that art is all around them, they have only to stop and enjoy!
