 | Classroom Guidance Lessons will take place again this year. Mrs. Closson will visit individual classrooms for grades 3-5. If your child is in grades K-2, he or she will come to the guidance office for guidance lessons. These lessons cover such topics as respect, responsibility, listening, and conflict resolution. Classroom guidance sessions cover important topics and give the students a good opportunity to get to know the Guidance Counselor as a supportive person here at school. |
| Small Group Counseling is geared toward building skills for greater success in the classroom. The size of these groups is limited to 6-7 students to maximize the benefits of the weekly half-hour meetings. Parents give permission for their children to attend these groups. If you would like your child to participate in a group of if you have any questions regarding small group counseling, please feel free to contact our guidance counselor. |
| Red Ribbon Week celebrates our commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. This year Red Ribbon Week will take place the last week in October. There is no better way to reinforce the health and well being of our students. |
| Our Mentors are paired with students who can benefit from one-on-one assistance. Parents give permission for their child to participate in the mentoring program. Research and experience tells us that mentors greatly enhance the studentıs success. |
| Our Student Study Team meets every Thursday to help determine the best ways to meet the academic needs of individual students. This team is made up of the parent, teacher, an administrator, a school psychologist, a staffing specialist, a school nurse, and the guidance counselor. In specific cases, the occupational therapist and/or physical therapist will attend. |
