Mission Statement

The mission of the Seminole County Public Schools is to ensure that all Early Childhood Program and PreK-Grade 12 students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be productive citizens in our great country and in the global economy.

Our Students

Wekiva students come from many corners of the world.  We have students from:

  • Egypt
  • Colombia
  • Cuba
  • Mexico
  • Puerto Rico
  • Russia
  • Venezuela

With 64% of our students being white, 24% being Hispanic, 4% being black, 3% being Asian, and 4% of our students are two or more races.  31% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. 

Wekiva Elementary offesr a wide range of advanced classwork to enable students to accelerate beyond the general curriculum.  We offer subject matter acceleration programs and virtual instruction via SCPS. 

We have earned a school grade of 'A' for 11 consecutive years as the school has sustained high student performance in a variety of areas, including reading, writing, math, and science.  No other school has maintained this grade for so long.  Go Koalas!

Our school offers an extended day program for students needs after-school care.  We also provides a Pre-K VE program to our youngest learners.

We also provide a wide range of clubs such as Music Kidz, ECO Club, Critter Club, Cross Country, Robotics Club, Lego Clubs, Student Council, and Student Patrols.

We strive to provide an education that develops 21st Century Skills including goal setting, teamwork, organization, responsibility, problem solving, cross-cultural skills, digital literacy, and communication.
