Would you like to be involved at Wekiva Elementary? Consider volunteering in the Information Commons. Our volunteers help with the checking in and out of books as well as creating displays, laminating, and helping with Book Fairs. Our Information Commons volunteers are an integral part of our library and we welcome anyone who would like to volunteer their time with us.
If you would like to become a media center volunteer please contact Angela Schatz at 407-746-1169 or [email protected].

Accelerated Reader - "AR"
Accelerated Reader is computer-based program used to monitor reading practice and progress. Students read books and take short quizzes to check for comprehension. AR helps teachers guide students to books that are written on their reading level. Our Information Commons has a level system using colored tape to help students locate books on their specific reading level. All books in our collection that are AR books have colored tape that indicate reading level and the point value on the spine of the book. AR has more that 200,000 book quizzes available.
